A: Start small!

For a beginner, you should begin with something simple, quick, low cost; and most importantly, failsafe!

Why? The 'simple', 'quick' and 'low cost' terms speak for themselves quite simply; what about the 'failsafe' part? Quoting Thomas Edison, "It is really disappointing that most of the people who give up do so not knowing how close they are to success."

By keeping our products simple, we make them failsafe - which makes for your project being successful. With success comes your confidence and self-esteem. Armed with those traits, you have the roots for success! At the same time, by keeping the kit simple, we can keep it low cost, and quick. See; it's all about you!

It depends on where your interests lie; however, by coming to this page and reading this - you prove you're interested in some way! As we like to quote, we will teach you to Discover Fun Engineering. You'll see - just by the layout of this site - that we put quite an emphasis on fun learning and creativity. Robotics is quickly becoming the next "big thing" just like the PC did. Q: When should I get involved?

A: At your own pace.

If you're 5 and feel ready to take on the world, come on! On the other hand, if you're 80 and feel like starting - nobody's stopping you! Nowadays, the trend's leaning to life-long learning. The human is a super learning machine; we never stop learning till we (err...) expire. That's the way the biological brain is designed. Hmmm... if only we could incorporate that learning into robots.

If (sorry to pop your bubble) all you do is sit, surf the net and dream, you'll end up with a super high-tech invisi-bill-robot, with super anti-matter, untouchable properties. Great to show off to your friends "Hey look - if you stare really hard, you'll see my imaginary robot there on the table!!!". You've got to start somewhere, sometime.
