On Thursday, 25th November 2010, Creative Robotics Learning Center together with Microsoft Malaysia and The Summit Subang USJ organized a game development competition. It was the first time such a competition was held after the successful inaugural Microsoft Kodu Kup in June. The Kodu Game Lab is a visual programming language that allows anyone, even those without programming knowledge and experience to create rich 3D games. Kodu uses intuitive icons to control the characters and objects with character behaviors expressed in physical terms.

Creative Robotics Learning Center was appointed to be a partner for Kodu Game Lab program in Malaysia. To find out more about us, please visit www.creativerobotics.com.my. About 40 students took part in the competition. These participants had to go through a Kreative Kodu Workshop in order to learn how to create their games. Find out more about it at www.creativekodu.com. The students were given a theme and were required to create a game within 2 hours. The theme of the game was “Kodu’s Great Adventure”.

Microsoft Malaysia sponsored many attractive prizes to the top 3 winners to the primary and secondary category. Each and every student also received a T-shirt, a Microsoft backpack and a sophisticated pen.

Winners for primary school category:
1st Place: Dominic Wong Hoong Fook, 11, SJK (C) Hin Hua, Klang.
2nd Place: Raimi Ridzuan, 11, SK Taman Putra Perdana.
3rd Place: Aaron James Lazaroo, 12, SK SS 19.

Winners for secondary school category:
1st Place: Lim Jo Vin, 15, Cempaka USJ School.
2nd Place: Sarvesh Seger, 14, SMK Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong.
3rd Place: Thiiban a/l Paskaran, 14, SMK USJ 12.

Microsoft Malaysia Education Director Mr. Farad Alhusaini was invited to give out the prizes to the winners.
