CREATIVE ROBOTICS LEARNING CENTER Cre8tiv RobotiX (Creative Robotics Learning Center) is the FIRST robotic only training center in Malaysia, specializing in helping out interested kids, students and adults alike to build their own robots. In the making since 2003, we have gathered vast experience in the field of LEGO & electronic-based robots and more. Feel free to browse the site and read on more!
INTRODUCTION
For information on Creative Robotics Learning Center,
Robotics have been around for centuries. From the earliest records, man has dreamt of building autonomous, independent robotic helpers to assist in daily life. The word 'robot' actually comes from the Czech word 'robota', meaning 'slave'. It was first used by Karel Capek in his play Rossum's Universal Robots in 1920. Machines that could help us in daily life are not just another idea from science fiction. Robots that are as cheap and versatile as the PC (the PR, Personal Robot) will have a place in every household. The future is in your hands. Here at Creative Robotics, we can help you to get a jump start in the field of robotics; discover fun engineering with emphasis on creativity, thinking both in and out of the box, and setting the sky as the limit to your creations!
Roach and Ladybug - our cute little photovores
WHAT DO WE DO? We specialize in giving robotic training for both the average hobbyist and competition participants. We also supply robotic kits to school robotic clubs. Our trainers have proven their skills by winning countless awards in the national and international arena (see Profile and About Us). We also sell useful robotic components. By useful, we mean useful - because we stock up on the components most commonly used in building robots, head to toe. From microcontrollers, IR sensors, camera sensors, servomotors and gyro sensors to programmers and motor drivers - we have 'em.
Our Cybot & TOM collection from Ultimate Real Robots. Learn more here. Another specialty of ours - and we're really proud of this one - is the distribution of our very own, custom made, novelty Robotic Gift Pack!!! These are more than just toys - they could very well develop your child / friend / brother's future by giving them the gift of knowledge! To help you more, the Creative Robotics Club (CRC) has been set up - get in touch with us on Facebook, Youtube, Blogger, Gmail and more! If all that's not enough, we even hold robotic workshops, competitions and activities - which include Creative Categories, Sumo Robots and Sprinters. More on that on the Activities page. Still want more!? Well, we do offer advice, tips and tricks for university & college students with moderately complex/advanced questions regarding robotics, mechatronics or electronics in general. Feel free to drop by and have a chat with our technical guys - they're cool. Just remember to be polite & courteous!

WHERE TO FIND US? Details on how to contact us and where we are located can be found on the Contact and Location pages respectively. Please browse there and have a look. Please note that we're based in Malaysia and might have trouble helping you 'in the flesh' if you're from another planet (or country). If that's the case, please contact us on the Contact page too!
Robo Twelvean - Our prototype butler robot
WHAT COMPONENTS DO WE CONSIDER USEFUL? Of course different people will have different perspectives of what components are useful and what's not. We - being quite experienced in practical robotics will definitely have a good idea of what type of components that you will need - either for your first robotic creation, or for a multi-capable robot for an international competition - to get started and established. Let's break this up into two sections. For the hobbyist's project, components such as light sensors, IR sensors, microcontrollers, motors and motor drivers, power supplies and chassis (all at low prices) are considered useful. For the experienced competitor, components such as high-power motor driver boards, precision/high-torque servos, microcontroller development boards and high capacity batteries all come in really handy especially if you're on a tight deadline or budget. Trust us, we know what we're talking about!

QuadBot, our artificially intelligent walking, 'thinking'
and 'sleeping' robot
TO THE BEGINNER If you're a fresh hobbyist, new to the world of
robotics, you're gonna need a lot of help in terms of project scope,
project cost, technical workings and putting it all together. If you
want to piece together your very own (say) line tracing robot, you'll
need components such as light sensors, motors, a brain with the
line-tracing-algorithm, motor drivers and a chassis. Of course you can
design all these yourself, but is it worth the huge time and effort
required? Designing and fabricating circuit boards yourself can take
quite a lot of time (and money!) and is very stressful - especially if
you are new to all these techniques.
Robo eXplorer II - our camera equipped explorer robot
HOW CAN WE (POSSIBLY) HELP YOU? There are plenty of ways and things we can help you with. If you need some advice (or counseling) regarding a basic - moderate project, feel free to contact us. A big number of students come looking for us to seek help for competitions - such as the Warman or the NRC. We will be able to give you ideas, designs and advice on how to get started - from there, you take it further! Choose from our growing number of kits to see which one suits your project best. We strongly recommend LEGO Mindstorms kits for most projects. Why?
Besides LEGO robotics, we can also offer you help, advice and sources for your final year project! Just drop us an email with your enquiry, and we will do our best to answer your questions. We can also help you to find some all sorts of common and not-so-common robot parts. Do you simply want to learn more about robotics? Well, drop us an e-mail too!
